Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology
The Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib) is an international top research institution active in all fi elds of industrial biotechnology. Since its foundation in 2010, acib has specialized in the development of new, more environmentally friendly and economical processes for industry (biotech, chemical, pharmaceutical), using nature‘s methods and tools. There are currently 200+ employees researching and working at acib. Owners of acib are the Universities of Innsbruck and Graz, TU Graz, BOKU Vienna and Joanneum Research. The FFG K2 center is funded through the COMET program – Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies by the BMK, BMWFW and the federal states of Styria, Vienna, Lower Austria and Tyrol.
